ASCII art bonanza!

I’ve posted new versions of both Weatherspect and Asciiquarium, so the three people on the internet who still care about ASCII art will be thrilled.

Weatherspect v1.11 just distributes some of the critters in the trees, instead of having everything walk along the bottom of the screen.

Asciiquarium v1.1 (only 8 years after 1.0!) adds a few new random creatures, plus a fish hook that will occasionally snag an unwary fish.

    I’m 1 of those 3 (00,000) 😉
    I just love the changes, too cute!
    I’m going to add Weatherspect and ASCIIQuarium to the site.
    Thank you much!

    P.S. E-mail is real so please remove it IF it shows on the post, if the post shows at all hehe, thx!

    Thank you, it’s opensource from here.
    I finally have a little tutorial up, not that it was ‘needed’ :), it’s under Geek Fun / Terminal Fun 2 – View ASCII Art / here and here (hope I did it justice). Thank you again for the great soft!

    Hello Kirk, I packed weatherspect for Mageia. It will be available in Mageia 4.
    Thanks for your work!

    I’m back 🙂 I have a question please. How can normal users run asciiquarium & weatherspect? They are both working fine for myself as a user. I have installed, as root, the pre-reqs (perl libcurses-perl Term::Animation), Debian Wheezy. If other users, who don’t have access to root try to run asciiquarium or weatherspect they have this error:
    Can't locate Term/Animation.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Term::Animation module) (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.18.1 /usr/local/share/perl/5.18.1 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.18 /usr/share/perl/5.18 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/local/bin/asciiquarium line 42.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/bin/asciiquarium line 42.

    Thanks again

      My guess is that either the path you’ve installed Term::Animation to is not readable by other users, or you’ve installed it “locally” instead of globally, so it’s not in the global search path.

        Thanks Kirk :). Yes that sounds plausible. It’s in queue on my to-do-list, once sorted out I’ll update you on that.
